The DNA of Successful Team: Interplay of Skills and Diversity
The dynamics of a group, community, or organisation are much more than simply playing different roles. The complex combination of natural and acquired characteristics of each group member determines the opportunities for the entire group to grow and develop. The tools of the BG5® system enable the analysis of how, when, and to what extent the individual characteristics of each group member influence the performance of the whole group and the roles that skills and diversity play in the entire process.

The inherent qualities of each group member lend the group stability and credibility, as they enable the group to stand out and ensure its recognition and appreciation for its unique characteristics. Likewise, acquired qualities, such as skills and competencies, are essential for the growth of the group, as they foster creativity and innovation and enable the group to respond more effectively to challenges. Simultaneously, cooperation and collective efforts based on acquired characteristics promote the prosperity and development of the group. This is also emphasised by the analysis through the BG5® system, revealing how different individuals can enrich the collective with their unique skills, attitudes, and potential. The diversity of the group members holds extraordinary power and importance, akin to how biodiversity ensures the survival of species. Thus, the strength of a group lies in the diversity of its members.
Environmental influences or effects on a group can either promote or destroy its growth. However, suppose the group applies the BG5® system models in practice. In that case, balance is achieved, distractions and stagnation are avoided, and the highest potential and mastery of that group and its members are reached. It is the utilisation of the main strengths of the group members in the professional environment that represents the optimal use of natural gifts and the key to personal and collective success for the entire group.
Nevertheless, a group may face challenges in adequately identifying and utilising the natural strengths of its members. Therefore, it is essential to distinguish the actual abilities of the group members from the false ones, that is, those acquired, learned, or imposed by the environment or other members of the same group.
This task of identifying and utilising true and false abilities can be difficult. Still, the BG5® system offers structured methods to help determine the unique strengths of each group member and how they can be effectively integrated into group activities. This promotes individual success and strengthens the overall synergy of the group, ensuring that all members work together and not against each other. By applying the models of the BG5® system, the group can effectively reveal and utilise the natural gifts of its members, which are essential for maintaining motivation, increasing productivity, and achieving common goals. The group, implementing the principles of the BG5® system, can move from potential conflicts and misunderstandings to close cooperation, where each member feels valued and important.
